Welcome to the Centre for Integrated Health and Wellbeing (CiH-Well), an international hub dedicated to advancing health outcomes, reducing disparities, and enhancing well-being across all stages of life. Grounded in a multidisciplinary approach, our work spans chronic conditions, mental health, and public health, uniting expertise across academia, healthcare, and the public sector. By combining innovative research with practical applications, we aim to deliver sustainable, impactful solutions that drive positive change locally, nationally, and globally. Our commitment lies in driving positive change at local, national, and global levels, aligning directly with the University's ambitious Research and Innovation strategy.
At CiH-Well, we harness the collective power of diverse disciplines, including psychology, sports and exercise science, social care, healthcare, and digital technologies, to tackle complex health and well-being challenges. Our established track record of securing significant funding from prestigious bodies such as UK research councils, Innovate UK, the EU, charitable foundations, and industry partners underscores our capacity for impactful and innovative research.
Our strength lies not only in the breadth of our scientific expertise and diverse methodological approaches, but also in the extensive research and Public and Patient Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) networks cultivated by our members. By bringing these networks together, we aim to amplify their reach, providing crucial support for early-career researchers and fostering new collaborations. Driven by a team of innovative and passionate individuals, CiH-Well has generated over £5.4 million in research funding in the past five years. We are committed to building upon our success for future growth, increasing collaboration to lead impactful projects that truly make a difference in the lives of individuals and communities.
